2- Advertising Agency

COM 530 Module Seven Presentation Guidelines and Rubric
Imagine you work for an advertising agency. Your superiors have asked you to create a slide show and script explaining to your peers false light and
appropriation as they apply to social media in the advertising field. These two concepts are important, especially in advertising, because many advertising tactics
include photos, celebrity associations, and puffery in order to gain attention. False light and appropriation are the two legal areas that you can cross into if you
are not careful with the use of wording and images.
Prompt Your presentation should include the following elements:
a) Explain the concepts of 1) false light and 2) appropriation.
b) Provide examples of both and explain them. Examples may be visuals or text (again keeping in mind proper font size for slide presentation). Be sure to
explain how your examples illustrate theseconcepts.
c) Explain precautions that must be taken when creating social media-based advertisementsto avoid legal action from falselight and/or appropriation
claims. Include specific examples.
Guidelines for Submission: You can use PowerPoint, Prezi, orother presentation software to completethis assignment, aslong asit produces a slide
presentation that is both correct and professional and can be viewed by the instructor without need for downloading new software. Be sure to use proper font
type and size for a slide presentation. Include 5–6slides and a brief script that are polished and professional. It should be something that you would be proud to
present to your work colleagues. Audio is not necessary.
