The aim of the essay is to give you the opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the definition and debates surrounding environmental policy issues. In addition it gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the key concepts drawn on by environmental policy actors in debates. You are given references to help guide your reading, it is expected that you will read these and further around the subject and note these and additional sources in your reference list. The assessment feedback sheet on page 19 shows the key criteria you are being assessed against. These will be explained in more detail in the essay briefing in your week 17 or 18 seminar. The seminar will also provide guidance on the key areas for discussion in the essay, but it will be up to you how you plan and structure the essay. Illustrate your answer with examples. Question Two: Compare and contrast the role and influence of two policy actors* in climate change policy making. Question Three: How far does ecological modernisation lay the foundation for sustainable cities, and what should the role of business be within them?
