Instructions/Rubric for Experiential Learning Assignment

Purpose:

The purpose of this assignment is to allow you to experience, on a first-hand basis, what it’s like to be a healthcare quality improvement professional in a real-time setting. This effort will help you appreciate the perspectives of behind the scene and front-line professionals involved in improving patient care in your setting.

Your assignment:

·       Choose a quality (QA/QI) professional. It can be a quality/safety/informatics professional or nurse in the field of informatics.

·       Arrange to spend approximately 1-hour interviewing and 3 hours interacting with and/or shadowing that individual.

·       This can be someone you already know, or it can be someone you call specifically for the purpose of this assignment.

·       Using APA style, write a 3 to 4 page paper excluding title page and references.

·       To get full credit, please address each of the content areas listed in the rubric below.

·       Upload the paper to the Dropbox by the posted assignment due date.
