2- Ethics

I would like to request an introduction to a book of essays about ethics. I have collected these essays from sample essay websites. Ostensibly these texts are meant ‘to inspire student writing’ but in reality students plagiarize their arguments, paraphrase or incorporate sections into their papers or in some cases turn in the essay as if it were their own. These websites are used to market essay writing services, by companies like the one that employs you.

I recognize this is not your typical request. I am hoping for an essay that models an academic introductory essay for an edited collection of scholarly texts. It should do the work of an introduction and reflect on the themes in the eight sections: The Philosophy of Ethics, Life and Death, Care, Individual and Society, Technology, Business, Consent, and Deception. It could note that certain subject matter apart over-represented on these websites (business ethics, corporate social responsibility, sports), while others are absent (feminist ethics, ethics of care, environmental ethics, social justice.) It could also acknowledge the unusualness of this request, and the irony of a collection of plagiarized essays on ethics.

I would also welcome you to insert your own authorial voice and talk (in the first person?) about your experience writing essays for other people. What does it mean for you that other people are claiming your words and ideas? What are the ethics of your work? The essay’s authorship could be anonymous, or have your name on it, as you see fit.
