Statement 2: I do not think that a composer should consider the audience when they are creating music. Everyone understands music in their own way. If a composer was always catering to what the audience wanted to hear, all music would be the same and nothing would be unique. Great music is created by the uniqueness of it as not all music can be great. The dangers of creating music to cater to audiences is that music would be the same because the audience only wants the same music.
Opposing Argument: Creating music that is catered towards an audience could be good because that is what an audience is looking for. Maybe this could allow more people to enjoy the music that they would like to hear. Maybe if a composer gets feedback on what the audience is looking to hear, it could make the composer a better musician.
