Answer all of the questions in a single Word document. Practice submitting this document via the Turnitin link in the Assignment Information area [ensure you are uploading via the Practice Assignment link]. Once uploaded, you can view the model solutions. [Note: you need to move away from the folder and then re-enter it to access the solutions document]. Try to keep your response to each question to one page where possible – include any output to support your answer.

Question 3 – Research has suggested that Australian adults are less involved in sporting activities than they were in 2010, when it was reported that 50% of Australian adults played sport. Conduct a Binomial test to test this claim. Provide the relevant output and write the report for your test in the style presented in the course materials. [Do you play sport? Variable]. You will need to modify your data file to be able to address this question – see instructions on the following page.

Question 4 – Research conducted in 2010 suggested that the average food expenditure in Australia was $125.00 per week. An economist has hypothesised that this is no longer the case, and that expenditure on food per week is now higher. Use a One-sample t-test to test this hypothesis. Provide the relevant output and write the report for your test in the style presented in the course materials. [Food Expenditure variable].

Question 5 – The economist also suggested that people who are partnered have a higher total expenditure per week than those who are single. Use an Independent samples t-test to investigate this. Provide the relevant output and write the report for your test in the style presented in the course materials. [Total Expenditure and Family Status variables].

Note: To answer Question 5, you will need to have studied the Independent samples ttest topic.
