Govt essay topic: Define and describe the purpose of Strict Scrutiny and the three conditions that must be met. Select an Affirmative Action Case either previously decided by the court or currently before the court. (this may involve issues other than Higher Education if you prefer). Make an argument as to whether or not the standard of strict scrutiny was met in this instance.

Essays should be 2-3 pages. There should be a minimum of two citations and these should be quality sources from scholarly journals; i.e., secondary sources. If you are taking a position on a controversial issue in any format be sure to acknowledge and respond to the strongest arguments against your thesis and at least one of these citations must be to a source contrary to your thesis.
