Hypothesis and research topic****

Hypothesis
Question: Are there significant differences in the development of schizophrenia in young men and women?
Possible answers: Potential results of the study may include the following characteristics and features. Psychological differences between men and women have their own neurobiological basis. Women are capable of more stable and consistent processing of information and its systematization, and men have a more pronounced ability to emotionally holistic perception, synthetic thinking. The semantic coordinate system concerning both the phenomena of the surrounding world and their own personality is more conservative in women and, therefore, more stable in forming an endogenous disease (Seeman, 2019). Women and men who have schizophrenia have different rates of hospitalization. Women have lower rates of repeated hospitalization and shorter hospital stay. According to the results of research by foreign authors, men who have schizophrenia have more pronounced negative symptoms, a higher level of social maladaptation. According to psychological characteristics, the differences between men and women are always a combination of both biological and socio-cultural factors.
What needs to be found out:
Schizophrenia in young men:
• Do men react to medication worse than women?
• Do symptoms appear at an earlier age than girls, and does schizophrenia have a more severe form?
• Are young men more likely to face problems at school or work?
• Do they have more difficulties in showing their will and making decisions?
• Is it more difficult for them to cope with daily tasks?
Schizophrenia in young women:
• Are young girls amenable to more accessible drug treatment? How does this manifest itself in the short and long term?
• What is the severity of the symptoms shown compared to men?
• Do young girls manage to undergo social adaptation more efficiently and successfully integrate into communities?
• Are young girls better at dealing with their personal lives?
