The purpose of this assignment is for student teams to critique a quantitative study design and findings published in a business journal. The assignment is designed to strengthen student skills in evaluating the strength of the evidence published in empirical journals and then make decisions on applying the evidence to a business problem, solution, or innovation opportunity. The assignment is to be conducted individually by each student to evaluated learning and competencies in research methods. The grading for the assignment is as follows: 1. Select a quantitative research study to evaluate and critique. The study must be published in a peer reviewed journal, studies published in magazines or popular media are not considered empirical studies and will not be acceptable for this assignment. Describe the rationale for selecting this study, what area of interest it focuses on, what research problem/solution/evidence it is seeking to focus on. Describe the relevance of this research to business leaders or scholars. (2 pages – 20 marks) 2. Evaluate the strength of the literature review, comment of the completeness and clarity of the review, identify areas of literature that were not included that could strengthen the literature review, comment on the clarity of the literature review and describe your opinion of the strength of the literature in supporting the importance and relevance of the research question.
