The Interim Report gives an assessment of the progress of the student during the 1rst 5
weeks of the project. The Interim Report takes the form of a report (1000 words maximum)
detailing progress against the initial project plan, summarising the word done on the
project to date, outlining any problems encountered of foreseen and giving an updated
plan of work (Gantt chart) required to successfully complete the project. Feedback on the
Interim Report will be provided by the academic supervisor and, where appropriate, by
the industrial mentor. Academic supervisors may request that students also supply an
early draft of their literature review to accompany the interim report..
