Psychology Survey
For this activity, you will create a 10 item survey on your topic, using a five point Likert scale (1=strongly
disagree to 5=strongly agree).
— This must be a new and original survey, completely created by you.
— You must write yourself each and every new question for this survey.
— Do not copy questions, or anything else, from any source.
First, research and read about how to write Likert scales. See the list of resources provided in the Course
Materials link and find other resources by doing research in the library.
All questions must be directly about your topic. Any additional questions about opinions, demographics, or
anything else, must be asked separately, outside of the 10 survey questions.
Then, write a post with four sections – without numbers, using headings:
(1) survey information (2) the survey (3) justification (4) references
(1) Survey Information: Include at the beginning of the survey:
brief description of the topic and definitions of terms
instructions for answering the survey
active consent
(2) Survey: Write your completed survey with all questions and answers, ready to be answered. (Do NOT
include an answer key or any scoring instructions or any potential diagnosis or interpretation of the results
for the takers of the survey).
– The survey must be written in the form of statements (not questions, do not use question marks).
– The survey must be written in first person (only use “I”). Do not use other pronouns (you, we, etc).
– Read the files in the “Start Here” module to help you write the survey and format it correctly.
(3) Justification: Write 10 separate paragraphs, one for each of the 10 questions on your survey, to justify
the wording used for each question, justify the inclusion of each survey question, and explain how each
question fits in with the other questions and within your topic. Explain why each question should be part of
the survey and how it gives insight into the topic you have chosen.
(4) References: The sources you used in APA format related to the topic of your project. Use at least three
PRIMARY sources to support your work. Do not include the textbook.
NOTE: All references must be about your topic only – not about Likert ScalesIMPORTANT: Within three days of receiving feedback on your survey and after you make any changes
suggested, you must post your corrected survey for your classmates to take at surveymonkey.com and
then post your surveymonkey link in the Learning Activity in week 6.
