Management 454: Labor Management Relations

Should be a minimum of 6 pages. So 7 pages would ge ideal.

Focus is a critical discussion of a particular negotiation issue that you choose.

Topic choice may include an examination of an issue or issues that are of local, national, or international interest. The subject of the paper is to be determined by you own interests.

Critically examines multiple perspectives, i.e. alternate points-of-view.

Discusses the reasons, impact, and consequences of the viewpoints as related to your topic.

Your examination of the issues relating to your subject choice should minimally include:

1). Identification of the parties involved (ex: special interest group/political/international)

2). Definition of scope of the issue to be discussed. It may include a problem discussion analysis from the individual, managerial, environmental, and/or workplace perspectives

3). If applicable, identification of any peripheral stakeholders to clarify your perspective analysis.

4). Within your scope, identify the tactics and strategy the parties may have employed.

5). Identify and elaborate on the power and leverage aspects of the tactics, strategy, etc.

6). Outcome of the negotiation (if applicable.)

7). Identify the negotiations form and ethical viewpoint (fairness, justice, etc.)

8). Discuss the success of failure of negotiations.

9). Your plan: what you would do to address the issues. Identify your strategy, tactics and planned

outcome of the issue.

10). A CRITICAL, IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS IS FUNDAMENTAL TO THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE THOUGHT PAPER.
