Scope – not too general.

Two novels should be compared. A close reading hsould be done. For instance, a specific problem that can be found in 2 novels can be compared.

The Complexity of … in Dystopian Novels. A comparative study of… and…

Criticism you can choose for the work (see below, something can be chosen from the list. The whole list of criticism can be found in the book I wrote about – Lois Tyson).

Psychoanalytic criticism (psychoanalysis, the meaning of dreams/symbols/sexuality)
Feminist criticism (patriarchy, feminism)
Deconstructive criticism (deconstructing language/world/human identity/literature)
New historical and cultural criticism
Postcolonial critisism (identity/debates etc)

No LHBTQ, Structuralist and African American criticism. It is not the area of the teachers. Anything else would work fine. Check out Lois Tyson for more criticism.

Around 8000 words is needed.

The book that you must use is “Critical theory today. A user-friendly guide” by Lois Tyson. Other sourses (books, articles etc) must also be used.

All the citations and the reference list must be written the right way! Make sure you write down the right page when you quote etc. The number of books, articles etc should be 30 or more since it is a C essay. Online webpages with no author are not accepted.
