Work Packages Assignment
After Professor reviews (see professor feedback below) and approves the WBS (please take a look below the highlighted section) that was submitted, you will identify activities and milestones for the work packages (lowest-level deliverables in the WBS).
You should review chapter 5, focusing on the sections that discuss defining and sequencing activities (from Pg 213 – onwards). The following video is also helpful.
Evenly divide the sub-deliverables from your WBS between everyone in the learning lab group. These are the lowest level deliverables you identified in the group WBS last assignment.
For each sub-deliverable, identify at least three activities and one milestone.
For each activity, define the following:
• Activity #
• Activity Name
• Duration (hours or days, be consistent)
• Predecessor Activity #s (may have 0, 1, or more than one predecessors).
Remember, activities are actions, and verbs are accepted. Milestones are checkpoints and usually written as past tense.
Here is an example of a completed activity list for a sample work package. The first four are activities, and the last item is a milestone. Notice the verb tense for each item.

Feedback from Professor about WBS

Deliverables are tangible things that you can make or produce, like reports, systems, new products, guidelines, events, etc. “Maximum Profit” is an idea, not a tangible thing. You can make it tangible by changing the name to “1.1. Maximum Profit Plan”. The sub-deliverables also need to be made into “things.” I offer a couple of suggestions below.
For this assignment, please make sure the sub-deliverables you work on are tangible things.
