Part Two: Assessment Activities and data collection

  1. Create a plan to conduct the assessment sessions for each child. Work with each child at least once a week. Before initiating the assessment sessions, build rapport with each

child. Consider choosing a story to read together, learning a song, joining the child during

centers or any other activity, or informally holding a conversation. Describe in your

report the strategies used to build rapport with each children. 2. Review the informal assessment instruments selected to assess the child’s literacy

behaviors. Prepare your materials and

administer the following informal assessments.
