videos to driving a car. They both went to winter park high school she was in 9th her big brother was in 11th
I tried for the basketball team I was very much a tomboy playing around with my brother and boy cousins
when I use to live in valley stream NY a small town in Island Long. So I made the varsity team because of
my talent and height 14 year old 5’7 girl but my big brother was the most popular and better Athlete
because I was constantly getting injured with breaking my left wrist spraining both ankles and getting
stitches in my right hand on three fingers at that time I was always in the physical therapist office or athletic
training office at school I realize I was always fooling my big brother around and not following my own path
then it hit me I realized I wanted to work in the medical field and study rehabilitation or physical therapy
medicine!!!!!!!!
Your final project for this class will be a 5-page autobiography. The autobiography will tell the story of
something meaningful that has happened in your life (e.g. your experience as a child of immigrants or your
own immigration story, your experience as an athlete, an experience with body image and the list goes on)
You will write about this experience using the lens of sociology. In other words, this is not just a personal
story. It is a story that allows the reader to see how private problems or experiences (be it sad or happy
ones) are linked to public issues (e.g. culture, social structure, and/or systems of inequality).
This paper is about using your sociological imagination. It shows me how well you can apply sociological
concepts to everyday life. This is not just a personal story of where you were born but rather how that might
have impacted your place in society. To complete this paper, you must be specific as to what sociological
concepts you are using. For this project, you must use at least 5 theories or concepts from the semester. I
will be looking for how you make the connection between the concept and your own life so be as specific
as possible.
