In the Republic, Socrates argues that the soul (mind) has three main parts: appetite, spirit, and reason. Do
you think this setup is adequate to explain human behavior? Or do you think the soul is arranged in a
different way? Compose an essay in which you argue either in favor or against Plato’s picture of the soul.
